Pre-Planning

   There are many advantages to planning a funeral ahead of time. By pre-planning a funeral, difficult decisions will not have to be made during a time of grieving and stress. You will be able to visit a potential resting site and have time to decide on and compare options. Thought can be made to whether or not cremation is an option you maywant to choose. Your wishes can be put into writing to give your family direction when the time for the funeral comes. Our staff will help you plan so that your family can carry out your wishes.

Online Memorials

  Our online memorials provide information about the funeral service. Online visitors can sign the guest book, leave condolence messages, send a sympathy card and order flowers through the website. Families have access to the memorial page and can add photos to the photo gallery, share a story and/or link a memorial video for their loved one.

Death Certificates

   The Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc. orders the certified copies of the death certificate. The copies that are ordered during the arrangement conference are given to the family following the funeral service. The cost of each copy is $6.00. Additional copies may be ordered through the funeral home. The original death certificate is sent to the Pennsylvania Department of Health where it is kept on file. If additional copies are needed after the end of the month, it can sometimes take three or four weeks to receive them and the cost is $9.00 each. We will be happy to assist you in obtaining additional copies at any time in the future. You may either call the funeral home or e-mail your request.  If you wish, you can order the death certificates by printing the PA Application for Death Certificates.

After Care

  Our commitment to your family does not end at the conclusion of the funeral ceremony. We will assist you with any questions you may have after the funeral service.

  Many survivors are sometimes overwhelmed with the personal business that needs to be taken care of after the funeral. 

  The funeral home offers assistance with the following to every family, but not limited to:

Social Security Administration - notified by the funeral home at the time of death;

Veterans Benefits – if eligible, we will assist in applying for benefits from the federal and county governments;

Employer’s Benefits – (present or former) for example, UMWA, Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel;

Private and Fraternal Life Insurance Claims

Death Away From Home

  If death should occur while on vacation or spending the winter months in another state, call us first. We will make the necessary arrangements for the transportation to Bentleyville. Also, by calling us first, the expenses for an out of town funeral director will probably be less expensive.

  For those who travel often or spend the winter months in another state, it is strongly recommended to make funeral pre-arrangements. With the information on file, this would help alleviate delays in the transfer back to Bentleyville.
