Dorothy Armbruster

Dorothy Jean Sabo Armbruster, 85, of Fallowfield Township, Charleroi, died Tuesday evening, December 22, 2015 at the Monongahela Valley Hospital.

She was born October 12, 1930 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Dan Sabo, Jr. and Margaret Kayatin Sabo.

Raised in Charleroi, Mrs. Armbruster was a graduate of Charleroi High School.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi.

She enjoyed cooking dinner for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and baking pies, cookies and cakes.

On April 16, 1949 in Winchester, Virginia, she married William J. Armbruster, Jr., who died June 18, 2009. For 38 years, the couple co-owned and operated the Bentleyville Flower Shop.

Surviving are a son, William J. Armbruster, III (Ann) of Fallowfield Twp.; grandchildren, Alexander W. Armbruster (Jan), Andrew P. Armbruster, Aric D. Armbruster, Thomas N. Voelker and Allison Ann Zelinsky (Ron); great-grandchild, Kaylinn, Adam, Eli and Alexa Armbruster and a niece, Madlyn Sabo Peters.

Deceased are her twin children, Jeffrey Lee Armbruster and Jennifer Lynn Voelker and a brother, Daniel B. Sabo.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27 with the Pastor Mark Woomer, officiating.
