Dorothy Edna Barney Barr, 95, formerly of Eighty Four, Somerset Township, died Saturday morning, July 1, 2017 at Presbyterian Senior Care-Southmont in Washington.
She was born October 29, 1921 in Eighty Four, where she lived her entire life, a daughter of David Walter and Mary Floyd Barney.
She worked as a housekeeper for area families.
Mrs. Barr was a life-long member of the Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church in Eighty Four, where on July 9, 1949 she married her husband of nearly 68 years, Glenn Albert Barr, who survives.
She was a former junior girl-scout leader of the church.
She was active in many bowling leagues, loved flower and vegetable gardening and playing cards.
Surviving are a brother, David C. Barney of New Kensington and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are her brothers, Walter, Randall, Norman, Wilfred and Ernest Barney and sisters, Ruth C. Tustin, Emma Barney and Eleanor Iams Eckels.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Pigeon Creek Cemetery.
