Eileen Ambrosy Ozenbaugh, 72, of Clarksville, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
She was born June 22, 1942 in Ellsworth, daughter of John Steve and Irene Smatsky Vrabel.
A 1960 graduate of the Ellsworth High School, she graduated in 1977 from Waynesburg College with a bachelor’s degree in science and registered nursing.
Mrs. Ozenbaugh retired from Consol Energy and worked at the Somerset mine 60.
She was a member of Ave Maria Parish, where she was one of the Pierogi ladies.
She was also a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 1197 and at one time served as financial secretary, the American Quarter Horse Association and the Tri State Quarter Horse Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Frankie of Clarksville and Robyn Ambrosy (Jeff Morrell) of Charleroi; two grandchildren, Vincent Ambrosy-Wagner and Rebeccah Ambrosy-Stephens; a sister, Valentina Charlton of Vestaburg; several nieces and nephews; companion, Herbert Ambrosy and her beloved pets and horses.
Deceased are a brother, John “Jiggs” Vrabel and her second husband, Wayne Ozenbaugh.
Friends are welcome from noon to 3 and 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, June 1, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in Ave Maria Church, Bentleyville with the Reverend Pierre M. Falkenhan, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela.
