George Wheatley

George Harold Wheatley, 67, of Fallowfield Township, Charleroi, died Sunday morning, April 2, 2017 in his home.

He was born March 26, 1950 in Charleroi, a son of the late James Junior and Ruth McClain Wheatley.

A veteran, he served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.

George retired from the United Mine Workers of America construction division.

He was a member of the Garwood Baptist Church, Daisytown.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie L. McKito Wheatley, whom he married August 6, 1971 in Daisytown; a son Nathan D. Wheatley of Lexington, Kent.; two brothers, Alan Wheatley of Perryopolis and Robert Wheatley (Terry) of Charleroi; two sisters, Betty Guth (the late Dave) of Midlothian, Texas and April Shemiloff (Larry) of Charleroi and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, James Wheatley.
