John Pochiba Obituary

John Steven Pochiba, 73, of Deemston Borough, Fredericktown, died Tuesday evening, October 21, 2014 at the home of his daughter, Peggy Jolly.

He was born April 7, 1941 in Canonsburg, a son of Steve John and Margaret Pochiba.

A veteran, Mr. Pochiba served with the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1960 and was stationed at Ft. Knox, Kentucky.

A self-employed truck driver, he also helped his father at the family farm and saw mill.

His wife, Maryann Rosensteel Clair Pochiba, died November 20, 2007. They were married on November 19, 1971 in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving are his children, Frederick Meade Pochiba of Fredericktown, Lisa Ann Marry of Washington, Pamela Lee Hayden (Tim) of Ingalls, Indiana, Loryann Clair (Shane) of Grantsville, Utah and Peggy Jolly (Shawn) of Scenery Hill; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Deceased is a daughter, Carla Jean Pochiba.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 25 with Pastor Paul Peternel, officiating. Interment will follow in Buckingham Cemetery, Deemston Borough. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
