John Truchan, 81, of Bentleyville, Gibson, died Sunday morning, October 11, 2015 at the Monongahela Valley Hospital.
He was born January 18, 1934 in Pittsburgh, a son of Michael and Natalie Lanetz Truchan.
A veteran, Mr. Truchan served with the U.S. Army after the Korean War from 1956 to 1958.
He retired as a machinist from Union Electric Steel in Carnegie.
He was a member of Ave Maria Parish and enjoyed visiting with friends at the Roscoe Sportsman’s Club.
His wife, Margaret Ann “Peggy” Eland Truchan, died November 23, 2013.
Surviving are four children, Carol Jane Kerr (Thomas) of Monongahela, James Truchan (Ronda) of Tampa, Florida, William Truchan (Sandra) of St. Mary’s and JoAnn Truchan of Imperial; grandchildren, Kathleen and Patricia Kerr, Nina Trice, Anin, Benjamin and Abraham Truchan; great-grandchildren, Raquel and Alena Buzalka and Lee MacFarlane and nephews, Joel and David Fava.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2015 followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in Ave Maria Church, Bentleyville, with the Reverend Edward L.
