Joyce Matay

Joyce A. Lawson Matay, 70, of Charleroi, died Sunday evening, December 7, 2014 at the Monongahela Valley Hospital.

She was born October 31, 1944 in Charleroi, a daughter of Charles and Sarah Sleith Lawson.

She was a graduate of Charleroi High School.

Mrs. Matay enjoyed bingo and The Meadows Casino and was an avid Steelers and Penguins fan.

Surviving are three children, Robert J. Matay, Jr. of Bentleyville, Ronald Matay of Charleroi and Kathy DeSellems (Rick) of Charleroi; grandchildren, Sarah Helon, Sammi Jo Shupenko, Taylor Matay, Robert C. Matay and Blake J. Matay; several step-grandchildren; a sister, Charlene Jennings of North Charleroi and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband, Robert J. Matay, Sr. and a sister, Linda Wadsworth.

Friends are welcome from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, December 12, the hour of service, at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255.
