Louis Copechal

Louis Copechal, Jr., 73, of Bentleyville, Somerset Township, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, March 15, 2016 in the Washington Hospital emergency department.

He was born December 8, 1942, in East Bethlehem Township, a son of Louis J. Copechal, Sr. and Helen C. Oswald Copechal.

A veteran, Mr. Copechal served with the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam, then the U.S. Army and later the Air Force Reserves. He was a member of the American Legion Post 165, Bentleyville.

He worked as a truck driver for over 40 years for Supervalue.

Surviving are his children, Tammy Beach (James) of Roscoe, Louis C. Copechal (Jamie) of Canonsburg, Angel Joyner (Victor) of Greenville, North Carolina, Crystal Jones (Gregory) of Isabella and Joseph Copechal of Bentleyville; grandchildren, Kody, Kyrestone, Kassidy, Shealyn, Krysta, Hunter, Marissa, Amanda, Sylvia, Casey and Autumn; a great-granddaughter, Alivia; siblings, Robert Copechal (Terry) of Eighty Four, Matilda Thompson of Latrobe, Helen Louise Ogden (Richard) of Dallas, Texas and Gertrude Paxton (Doug) of New Stanton

Deceased are a sister, Mary Meredith; step-sisters, Margaret Stouch, Marjorie Hecko and Violet Hyson and a step-brother, John “Pete” Smarty.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where the family will have a service at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016.
