Marlene Lutes

Marlene A. Sable Lutes, 79, of Bentleyville, died Saturday morning, May 20, 2017 at the Monongahela Valley Hospital.

She was born July 13, 1937 in Monongahela, a daughter of William M. Sable and Ann T. Remish Sable.

Mrs. Lutes graduated from the Braddock School of Nursing. She worked for over 30 years as a registered nurse at Charleroi-Monessen Hospital and retired from Monongahela Valley Hospital.

She was a member of Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Dolores 1675, the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. She was a member of the former Ave Maria Parish Council and Womens Guild.

Mrs. Lutes was also a member of the Mon Valley Retired Nurses Association, the Red Hats, Homemakers Club and the 1954 Class Reunion Committee.

Her husband, Robert Allen Lutes, died September 8, 1995.

Surviving are a daughter, Colleen Martch (Nick), a son, Allen Lutes and a brother, Ronald W. Sable, Sr. all of Bentleyville.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017 followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Katharine Drexel, Bentleyville Campus, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville, with the Reverend Paul J. Grunebach, Senior Parochial Vicar, as celebrant. A procession will follow to Sacred Heart Cemetery for a graveside committal service. The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will pray the Rosary at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
