Rose M. Capozza Sabol, 98, of Bentleyville, died Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Premier Washington Health Center, where she was a resident for five years.
She was born October 4, 1919 in Taranto, Italy, a daughter of Egidio and Maria Frances Fella Capozza.
During World War II, Mrs. Sabol worked at a defense manufacturing plant in Warren, Ohio for five years and later for Bobbie Brooks in Washington for 10 years.
She enjoyed listening to music and sang at several Italian festival and other events in the area.
She also enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband, Andrew Robert Sabol, Sr., died October 23, 2000.
Surviving are a son Andrew Sabol and a daughter, Veronica Calcara, both of Bentleyville; a granddaughter, Kimberly Hendershot (Bob); great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Kelsey and Kyleigh Hendershot; a sister, Alberina Perunko (John) of Donora; a brother, Edward Capozza (Pauline) of Eldora and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are brothers, Joseph and Cosimo Capozza and sisters, Edith Caputo and Theresa McCann.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2017 with the Reverend Jeremy J. Mohler, Parochial Vicar of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
