Sylvia Arlene Sumney Wales, 88, of Eighty Four, died Saturday morning, September 17, 2016 in her home.
She was born January 16, 1928 in Eighty Four, a daughter of George Q. and Mary Katherine Ballein Sumney.
Mrs. Wales was a 1947 graduate of Trinity High School.
She was a member of the Davidson United Methodist Church in Glyde, where she played the piano for several years.
Her husband, Telfer L. “Woody” Wales, died February 5, 2013. They were married on April 19, 1950 in Gastonville Methodist Church, by the late Rev. Harry R. Speakman.
Surviving are two sons, Ronnie Lee Wales (Jill) of Canonsburg and Gary Lynn Wales of Eighty Four; four grandchildren, Nikki Linn Lloyd (Jon) of Bethel Park; Stevie Rae Wales Disilvio (Dave) of Carnegie, Riley Alexander Wales and Glenna Collette Wales, both of Canonsburg; three great-grandchildren, Braden Samuel Lloyd, Noah Christen Lloyd and Riley Grace Lloyd; daughter-in-law, Janice Sawhill Wales of Midway and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Lonnie Ray Wales; three brothers, Kenneth, Merle and William Sumney and three sisters, Violet Harmon, Margaret Patterson and Naomi Barnhart.
Friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255.
