Tina Charlton

Tina Vrabel Charlton, 77, of Vestaburg, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 4, 2016, in Monongahela, Pennsylvania.

She was born February 7, 1939 in Ellsworth, daughter of John Steve and Irene Smatsky Vrabel.

A 1957 graduate of Excelsior High School in Norwalk, California, shortly followed by a degree in nursing.

Ms. Charlton was known for her entrepreneurial spirit establishing many businesses while living in California, including fulfilling her dream as the owner of Apple Travel.

When she later moved back to her home town state of Pennsylvania, she took the most pride in volunteering when she could, for the causes she believed in and to support the community. She was a lover of animals, often taking in multiple stray pets, and doting on each and every one.

She is survived by four children Liza, Tony, Jennifer and Rob, two son-in-laws, Dick and Ken, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her brother, John “Jiggs” Vrabel and sister Eileen “Butch” Ambrosy Ozenbaugh.

Friends are welcome from 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 9, 2016 at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, followed at 11:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in Ave Maria Church, Bentleyville with the Reverend Edward L. Yuhas, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela.
