Frances Norquist Obituary

Frances V. Ramoski Norquist, 101, of Bentleyville, formerly of Somerset Township, died Monday morning, January 2, 2017 at the home of her daughter-in-law, Audrey Norquist.

She was born September 26, 1915 in Fallowfield Township, a daughter of Felix and Catherine Sokolosky Ramoski.

She attended the Charleroi schools.

Mrs. Norquist was a long-time member of Ave Maria Parish.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with her dogs, Cindy and Danny.

An avid bingo player, she also enjoyed playing cards, gardening, cutting grass and fishing.

On October 9, 1935 at St. Luke Church, Bentleyville, she married Henry J. Norquist, who died November 3, 1979.

Surviving, in addition to her daughter-in-law, are seven grandchildren, Henry C. Norquist (Rhonda) of Charleroi, Kenneth Norquist of Bentleyville, Timothy Norquist (Lisa) of Ellsworth, Kimberly Jeffcoat (Bryan) of Youngwood, Kelly Erdely (James) of Bentleyville, Dennis Norquist (April) of Fayette City and James Norquist (Debbie) of Somerset Township; 11 great-grandchildren, Cody, Matthew, Austin, Griffen, Lisa and Dennis Jr. Norquist, Abigail and Myla Erdely, Bryson and Chyan Banovich and Zeek Malanosky and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, Henry B. Norquist; brothers, Anthony, Jack and Wallace Ramoski and a sister, Helen Padovich.

Friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2017 followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in Ave Maria Church, Bentleyville, with the Reverend Edward L. Yuhas, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela. The Ave Maria Parish Women’s Guild will pray the Rosary at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ave Maria Parish, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314.
