Gracie, a beautiful fawn boxer girl, was adopted by the Yancich Family in the summer of 2006.
Her favorite things were young children, sunny days spent lounging on her screened-in porch, belly rubs, lullabies and squeaky toys.
Gracie loved treats of all kinds, though she never mastered the art of catching them in her mouth. She especially enjoyed cheese, marshmallows, yogurt and peanut butter. Every year for her birthday, Gracie got to enjoy a slice of cake, along with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. She loved hearing the 'Happy Birthday' song, as she knew it would lead to her special treat.
When Gracie was three, she adopted a baby boxer sister, Gabby. Gracie took Gabby under her wing, teaching her how to be a sweet, gentle girl. Gracie loved to cuddle and play with her sister, and thrived on acting as a maternal figure. She loved to 'tattle' on Gabby, and enjoyed nipping at her back legs as they played.
Gracie loved her people with all of her big doggie heart. She was able to communicate with just a look, letting her family know exactly how she felt - it was as if she was part human, which she wholeheartedly believed.
Gracie was stubborn, but she never let that stop her from making her family happy; she shared in their joy and comforted them when they were sad. She was the most perfect companion. Her sweet memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family - Tom, Mary Lynn, Jamie, Jason, Michael and Gabby.
