Jake, or Bowser as he was known at the Greene County Humane Society in December of 2008, has Emily Warco to thank for becoming a part of our family.
She was quite angry when we left that Saturday, but I did call that Monday and agreed to adopt him if he passed the "kitty test."
Jake, who was found running the back roads of Greene County, likely never lived in a home. We had to teach steps. But he quickly became a beloved member of our family, proving to be a kind, loving, gentle soul. And an infamous storm tracker, predicting a storm's approach with more accuracy than a paid meteorologist.
The sun may have been shining August 16, 2018, but it was a dark day in our home when we had to let him cross the rainbow bridge.
As his dad said, "There will never be another Jake!"
