Alex Victor Kiski, 86, a resident of Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington and formerly of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in the emergency department of the Washington Hospital.
He was born November 3, 1924 in Arnold City, a son of George and Gertrude Jennie Bendinsky Kiski.
Mr. Kiski worked for the Pittsburgh and West Virginia Railroad for several years. He later worked for Bethlehem Mines at mine 60 in Somerset Township for 37 years.
A veteran, he served during World War II with the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1943 in North Africa and Italy.
His wife of 55 years, Margaret Hussar Kiski, died July 28, 2006.
Surviving are two daughters, Dr. Saundra Kiski Stout (Bill) of Eighty Four and Rebecca Ullom (David) of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren Alexandra and Jonathan Ullom and several great nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four brothers, Peter Kiski, Dallas Richard Kiski, John Kiski and George Kiski and a sister, Tessie Harhay.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 20 with Rev. Andy Scott, officiating. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township with military rites by American Legion Post 165, Bentleyville.
