Ann Torhan

Ann Shuback Torhan, 85, a life long resident of Van Voorhis, died Monday, November 24, 2008, at Kenric Manor, Donora

She was born June 18, 1923 in Van Voorhis, a daughter of Metro Shuback, Sr. and Mary Sotack Shuback.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Charleroi.

Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Torhan of Van Voorhis; a brother, Mike Shuback (wife Patty) of Van Voorhis and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Deceased are husband, George Torhan, who died December 24, 1978; two brother, Steve (Bucky) Shuback and Metro Shuback, Jr., two brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where family and friends will meet at 9:15 a.m, Wednesday, November 26, 2008 followed at 10 a.m. by a Funeral Liturgy at Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Meadow Ave., Charleroi with Father James Ragan, as celebrant.
