Antonina "Toots" Ritosky Zemko, 93, of Van Voorhis, died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Four Oaks Personal Care Home, Monongahela.
She was born May 15, 1915 in Arnold City, a daughter of Andrew and Mary Ritosky.
Mrs. Zemko worked as a cook at the former Fallowfield School of the Charleroi School District.
She was an active member of Ave Maria Parish and its' Women's Guild.
She sang and danced for the former St. Clements Church Ethnic Group under Father Hutnik.
Mrs. Zemko was active in politics with the Democratic party.
On July 12, 1934 in Charleroi, she married Walter "Swore" Zemko, who died November 22, 1992.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Gersna of New Eagle and Mary Jane Martucci (John) of Charleroi; a son, Daniel Zemko (Bernadette) of Van Voorhis; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Hormell of Fairless Hills and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Mike Ritosky, Andrew Filarsky and Joseph Phillips.
Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2009 followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Ave Maria Church, Bentleyville with Rev. Gary W. Krummert, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela. The Ave Maria Parish Women's Guild will pray the rosary at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
