Becky L. (Shultz) Hrutkay

Becky L. Hrutkay, 84, of Bentleyville passed away Wednesday morning, September 20, 2023 at Concordia Hospice of Washington, The Donnell House.

She was born on June 1, 1939 in Charleroi, a daughter of the late John and Ella McCracken Shultz.

She was a 1957 graduate of the Charleroi High School.

Mrs. Hrutkay earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in teaching from California University of PA, and her Masters' degree from West Virginia University.

She taught school in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District and retired in 1993 as a guidance counselor from Baldwin-Whitehall.

She was a member of the Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, the Washington County Cattlemen's Association, the PA Farm Bureau and the former Bentleyville Lioness Club.

Her husband, Theodore "Ted" Hrutkay, passed away September 5, 2013. They were married June 11, 1966 at the former Ebenezer Methodist Church.

Surviving are her son, Brian T. Hrutkay of Bentleyville; grandson, Kalvin Hrutkay of Bentleyville; a sister, Donna L. Shultz of Elizabeth and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314, 724-239-2255, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023 with the Reverend Edward L. Yuhas, officiating.

Interment will follow at Maple Creek Cemetery, Fallowfield Township.
