Becky Oblak Obituary

Rebecca (Becky) Oblak, 79, of Ellsworth passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 11, 2020.

She was born on September 10, 1940, the loving daughter of the late Thomas and Annie Luketich from Cokeburg Junction.

On September 10, 1960, Becky married the love of her life Richard L. Oblak. She loved him unconditionally until his unfortunate passing on August 21, 2019, just 20 days shy of what would have been their 59th wedding anniversary. She became lost without him, but she was grateful for all that her children, grandchildren, and extended family did to help her grieve and process his death.

Becky was a devout Catholic and a life-long member of what is now the St. Katharine Drexel Parish (formerly Ave Maria) of Bentleyville, Pennsylvania.

In her early years, Becky was a surgical Tech with the Charleroi hospital. After her first born, she became the epitome of the phrase "stay-at-home Mom", and Mom she was! She not only raised her three, but all of their friends would have to lovingly refer to her as Mom as well.

Legend has it that on a clear day people in Scenery Hill would know dinner time at the Oblak's as her voice could be heard calling for her children to come home for dinner.

Once her children were raised and off on their own, she became known as "Rite-Aid Becky" as she was lastly employed there. Of course, this came in second to spending time with her family. In the later years, her days and nights were spent entertaining and herding in her grandchildren.

Becky leaves behind her three children, Richard G. Oblak (Laurie- deceased), Denise G. Kotchman (Bobo Kotchman), and Lori A. Wade (Doug Wade). Also, she leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Sean R. Walters (Amy Casciola Walters), Ryan R. Wade, Cory D. Wade and Thomas L. Wade. She was pre-deceased by her grandson RJ Oblak.

In addition, she is survived by her sister Veronica (Vundy) Olson (Ronald) along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. Saturday, August 15, at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, followed at Noon, by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Katharine Drexel, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville, with the Reverend Edward L. Yuhas, Pastor, as celebrant.

The Rite of Committal service will follow at St. Luke Cemetery, Bentleyville.

Due to the current limitations on gatherings set by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, visitors in the funeral home during the visitation will be restricted to 25 at a time. Visitor's time will be limited to five minutes so others have the opportunity to pay their respects. Facial covering and social distancing are required in the funeral home and at the church. Please refrain from visiting if you have traveled to or from a COVID-19 Hot Spot in the last 14 days.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests your consideration of memorials to Concordia Hospice of Washington - Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
