Betty Richardson

Betty Louise Stephens Richardson, 91, of Bentleyville, died Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Washington County Health Center.

She was born November 14, 1924 in Waynesburg, a daughter of Charles and Marie Stephens.

She was a graduate of Waynesburg High School.

Mrs. Richardson was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bentleyville, where she was an Elder, taught Sunday school, belonged to the women’s association and served on several committees.

She was a former member of the Bentleyville Public Library Board of Directors and the Pioneer Club.

On April 24, 1943 in Boston, Massachusetts, she married her husband of 70 years, Charles K. Richardson, who died November 30, 2014.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan Richardson of Washington, D.C. and Peggy Richardson of Palmyra.

There will be no public visitation. Friends are welcome to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church, 812 Main St., Bentleyville, with Rev. Andy Scott, officiating. Inurnment will follow in Scenery Hill Cemetery.
