Bill Jobes Obituary

William E. Jobes, 73, of Bridgeville, passed away Tuesday evening, January 31, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.

Bill was born February 24, 1949 in Brownsville, a son of the late William and Norma Elaine Hyatt Jobes.

He was a youth football and softball coach for many years and has been an influential mentor and coach to many young people. He was a work colleague of many, always being trustworthy, influential, and positive.

He was a member of the Saint Katharine Drexel Parish.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5826 in Bentleyville, served the Knights of Columbus in the position of District Deputy, President of the Mon Valley Chapter of the Knights of Columbus, Chairman of the Bishop's Project of the Pittsburgh Diocese, member of the Bishop Phelan Fourth Degree Assembly, Color Corps, and Ceremonial Teams.  He was honored as the Knight of the Year for the Mon Valley Chapter and Bentleyville Council.

His wife, Deborah Malik Jobes, passed away on December 4, 2016. They were married on June 28, 1969 at the St. Clement Church in Ellsworth.

Surviving are his children, William Michael Jobes (wife Pam) of Holly, Michigan, and Amy Anne Jobes (Peter Abraham) of Imperial; grandchildren, Hannah Clark, Natalie and Kaitlyn Jobes, Josh Berlin (wife Nikki), Jesse Berlin and Paige Berlin; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Caroline, and Colton Berlin; brother, Elmer Berish of Coal Center; sister, Candice Gail Holman of Bentleyville, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Deceased is a sister, Mildred E. Anderson.

Friends are welcome from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023, followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Katharine Drexel, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville, with the Reverend Edward L. Yuhas, Pastor, as celebrant.

The Knights of Columbus will pray the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home.
