Yvonne Sarah (Bonnie) Voelker Jenkins, 59, of Charleroi, Fallowfield Township, died Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Monongahela Valley Hospital.
She was born May 26, 1949, in Charleroi, a daughter of Yvonne Bonnie Rice Voelker and the late Warren George Voelker.
She received her Bachelor's Degree in elementary education from California University of Pennsylvania.
Bonnie was an elementary school teacher for five years for the Belle Vernon Area School District and taught at the Rostraver and Marion Elementary schools.
She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Charleroi, and was married there on August 29, 1970, to her husband, Thomas Jenkins, who survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Yvonne Bonnie Rice Voelker Robison of Charleroi; three children, Thomas Jenkins, Jr. (Bethany) of Pittsburgh, Todd Jenkins (Aislynn) of Speers and Ashley Jenkins at home; four grandchildren, Nathan, Nolan, Tiernan, and Natalia Jenkins; two brothers, Warren Voelker, Jr. (Carol) of Monessen and Thomas V. Voelker (Suzie) of Charleroi; two nieces, Ronna Montgomery (John) of Monongahela, Allison Zelinsky (Ronald) of Speers; one nephew, Thomas N. Voelker of Speers; sister-in-law Ronna Voelker; several cousins and many dear friends.
Deceased, in addition to her father, are her step-father, Robert Robison, and sister-in-law Jennifer Voelker.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 7, with the Rev. Kenneth Thompson, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G.
