Byron Kollar Obituary

Byron A. Kollar of Bentleyville, age 68, passed away amongst family on May 8, 2009.

Beloved husband of Virginia Ginny); loving father of Kelly Brian) Ramsey and Jason (Lindsy) Kollar. Byron was the proud Pap-Pap of Olivia Ramsey.

Also survived by brothers Donald (Joanie) Kollar and Jeffery (Marla) Kollar.

Son of the late Dolly and Anthony Kollar.

Byron worked for the Bentworth School District as a middle school Social Studies teacher for over 30 years. He was loved by many students.

After retiring from teaching he ran a lawn service, where he proudly served local businesses and families for the past 13 years.

As an avid hunter and fisherman, he hunted all over the U.S. and abroad.

He was an active member of Pheasant's Forever and Nixon Gun Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially planting a garden. Support from his wife and family enabled him to fight a courageous battle with prostate cancer for the past 3 years. He also suffered from Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia for 18 years.

May his positive attitude and relentless will to live serve as an inspiration to us all .. He loved life, and looked forward to every day. He was the type of guy to give you the "shirt off his back". He'll be missed but certainly not forgotten.
