Charles Richardson Obituary

Charles K. Richardson, Jr., 91, of Bentleyville, died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.

He was born March 7, 1923 in Washington, a son of Charles K. Richardson, Sr. and Edna Homme Richardson.

He was a graduate of the Ellsworth High School and attended Waynesburg College.

A veteran, Mr. Richardson served with the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of the former Charleroi VFW.

He retired as an inside foreman and worked at the Bethlehem Steel, mine 60.

Mr. Richardson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bentleyville, where he was an Elder.

He had a love for golf and enjoyed working outdoors.

On April 24, 1943 in Boston, Massachusetts, he married his wife of 70 years, Betty L. Stephens, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Susan Richardson of Washington, D.C. and Peggy Richardson of Palmyra.

Deceased are a brother, John Richardson and a sister, Ruth Hudson.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 4 with Rev. Andy Scott, officiating. Interment will follow in Scenery Hill Cemetery with graveside military rites by American Legion Post 165 of Bentleyville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 812 Main St., Bentleyville, PA 15314 or Bentleyville Public Library, 931 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314.
