Clair Kearns Obituary

Clair E. Kearns, 79, of Bentleyville, Somerset Township, died Friday evening, November 8, 2013 at the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born October 29, 1934 in Carroll Township, a son of Dewey Ray and Clara Eliza Williams Kearns.

A self-employed farmer, Mr. Kearns was also part owner and manager of the Eighty Four Livestock Auction.

For 50 years, he was an auctioneer of automobiles, estates and livestock and retired in 2003.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bentleyville.

Surviving are a sister, Edith E. Riggle (Donald) of Bentleyville, several nieces and nephews and companion, Betty McIntire of Bentleyville.

Deceased are his wife, Martha Jane McNary Kearns; brothers, Russell W., Wilber H. and Harry F. Kearns.

Friends are welcome from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 with Pastor Shirley Edgar, officiating.
