Clarence Blackburn Obituary

Clarence Ralph Blackburn, 83, of Carroll Township, Monongahela, died Sunday morning, August 6, 2017 at his home.

He was born March 21, 1934 in New Eagle, a son of Russell Hughes Blackburn and Ruth Carks Blackburn.

On August 19, 1966 in Monongahela, he married Alma Collin, who survives.

Clarence, “Bunny” as he was known to his family and friends, graduated from Bentleyville High School in 1952 and was president of his graduating class.

He was a former member of the Bentleyville Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Garwood Southern Baptist Church, Daisytown.

Mr. Blackburn was a member of the F&AM Lodge 237 in Beallsville and a former member of the Bentleyville Lions Club, where he served as president.

For 20 years, he was employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Allenport.

He was co-owner and president of Clarence Blackburn General Hauling and Sanitary Landfill and Clarence Blackburn Enterprises, Inc. He and his wife owned and operated a small mobile home court on Fallowfield Township.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a sister, Lorraine Uher (Martin) of Fallowfield Township; a brother, Richard Blackburn (Shirleen) of O’Fallon, Illinois; four children, Jeffrey Shane Blackburn (Robera) of Daisytown, Barbara Herman (James) of Bentleyville, Janie Southworth (Joseph) of Finleyville and Russell Hughes Blackburn II (Julie) of Carroll Township; 13 grandchildren, Kelsey, Russell III, Noah, Clarence David, Stephanie, Heath, Paige, Sadie and Wesley Blackburn, Kelly Adams, Jeffrey Adams, Jessi Isenhart (Eric) and Nathan Herman; four great-grandchildren, Keira, Alieya and Bailey Blackburn, Carter Flory; a nephew, John Shemasek; nieces, Ruth Ann Rodgers (Negley) of Belle Vernon and Mary Blackburn of Monongahela.

Deceased are a granddaughter, Darcie Leanne Herman; a niece, Lorraine Marie Blackburn and a nephew, Andrew Shemasek.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2017 with the Pastor George Lammay and Pastor Kevin Carpenter, co-officiating.
