A memorial service for David George "Cookie" Cook, Sr., of Bentleyville, who died February 18, 2011 will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 22 at the First Presbyterian Church, 812 Main Street, Bentleyville.
He was born December 18, 1956 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late George Clyde and Myrtle Margaret Blakley Cook.
He was a graduate of the North Hills High School and worked as a corrections officer for Fayette-SCI, Brownsville.
A veteran, he served with the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post 165, Bentleyville and the Veterans of Foreign War, West View (Pittsburgh).
He was a former member of the West View Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving is his wife, Esther A. Frank Cook. They were married November 5, 1999 in Pittsburgh.
Also surviving are seven children, Jennifer Knight (Mark) of Ellsworth, JoAn Desmond of Charlotte, North Carolina, Christopher Marcyjanik of Bentleyville, Valerie Cvitkovic (Dan) of Chippewa, Jennifer Cook (Norm) and Jessica Cook, all of Bentleyville and David Cook, Jr. of Bentleyville; eight grandchildren; sister, Roberta Clady (Denny) of Pittsburgh; brother, Bruce Cook (Dee) of Pittsburgh.
Deceased is a grandson, Jacob Knight.
