Doris M. Powell Durbin, 89, of Ellsworth, formerly of Coal Center, died Sunday, September 6, 2009, at Monongahela Valley Hospital.
She was born June 2, 1920 in Coal Center, a daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth Irwin Powell.
For several years, she was a sales clerk at the former Miller's Department Store in Charleroi.
She was a member of Howe United Methodist Church, Coal Center.
Mrs. Durbin is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, whom she lived with for the last six years, Darlene and James Puskavich of Ellsworth; granddaughters, Jill Bebout (Mark), Cheryl Rice (Kevin), Monica Bellicini (Shawn) and Marcie Moessner (Matt); great-grandchildren, Cody Levine, Caroline and Cameron Rice, Emily, Luke and Logan Bebout and Ryan Moessner.
Deceased are her husband, William Crawford Durbin, who died May 2003; brothers, Clarence, Ralph and Clifford Powell and sister, Margaret Abel.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255). Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Howe United Methodist Church, Coal Center. Interment in Howe Cemetery, Coal Center.
