Dorothy Nelson Giacomantonio, 92, of Scenery Hill, passed away Friday morning, September 20, 2024 in her home.
She was born January 2, 1932 in Marianna, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Grieg Nelson.
She was a happy homemaker, who enjoyed being with her family and baking, and loved Polka dancing with her husband.
Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Giacomantonio attended Penn Commercial in Washington and was an executive secretary for the First National Bank.
Her husband, Angelo P. Giacomantonio, passed away April 13, 2016.
Surviving are her children Ricardo Giacomantonio of Lone Pine, Pam Giacomantonio, and Angela McCann (John), all of Bentleyville; grandchildren, Gina (Derek Bridges), Dean, Rikki (Stephen Hancher), Robert (Karen), Sam (Cory), Nicholas (Jordyn) and Pamela Jordan; great-grandchildren, Emma, Cameron, Joshua, Aiden, Arya, Leo and Sam; daughter-in-law, Jody Giacomantonio; sister-in-law, Madeline Nelson, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, is a son, David Giacomantonio; daughter-in-law, Sue Giacomantonio; eight siblings, Margaret Presley, Jean Leno, William Nelson, Jack Nelson, Ann Stepp, Betty Matchett, Robert Nelson, and John “Zigger” Nelson.
The family extends a special thank you to Dorothy’s caregivers, Emily, Judi, Sharon, Jessica, Nancy and Elaine, and hospice nurses, Mary Ann and Lacy.
A private service will be held in care of the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255.
