Dorothy Barr Haines, 99, of Washington passed away Friday afternoon, November 12, 2021 at Southmont Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
She was born January 14, 1922 in Eighty Four, Nottingham Township, a daughter of the late J. Albert Barr and Pearl M. Sumney Barr.
A United Presbyterian by faith, Mrs. Haines was a 1940 graduate of East Washington High School and attended Penn Commercial in Washington.
Her husband, Carl V. Haines, passed away November 29, 2000.
Surviving are her children, SSGT Carl "Ed" Haines, retired USAF, (Nancy) of Somerset Township and Nancy Haines Hockenberry (Gerald) of Davenport, Florida; grandchildren, Christopher Hockenberry, Theresa Hockenberry Aceto (Adam), Allison Hockenberry Hanna (Robert) and Matthew Hockenberry (Julie); twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Anna B. Winkleblech of Eighty Four and several nieces and nephews.
Also deceased are her granddaughter, Carla Jo Haines Litwin; siblings, Howard J. "Pete" Barr, Glenn A. Barr, Edith B. Lindley and Edna L. Souleret.
Private services will be held and interment in Pigeon Creek Cemetery, Eighty Four.
