Duane Edward Barker

Duane Edward Barker, 43, of Wexford, died peacefully, Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born January 5, 1967 at South Side Hospital, Pittsburgh, a son of Donald Eugene Barker of Monroe, Mich. and Armeda G. Morris Fairchild of Kingston, Georgia.

Duane went to school and worked at Zapp Center of the Allegheny Valley School in Coraopolis.

He loved going to the Steelers games, going to church and music.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two sisters, Sonja Anne Barker of Taylors, South Carolina and Nanette Lynne Watson of Shippensburg; step-mother, Doris Barker; step-father, Lamarr Fairchild; uncle, Richard Keith Morris, Sr. (Becky); four aunts, Lonnie Mazzaro (Michael), Charlotte S. Giglio, Bernadette Beesley (Roger) and Pearl M. Kramer and many cousins.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 5:45 p.m., Tuesday, April 20 at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where services will follow at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Al Finney, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Allegheny Valley School, Attn: Dorothy Gordon, 1996 Ewings Mills Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108.
