Elizabeth J. (Kendra) Cursi

Elizabeth "Betty" J. Kendra Cursi, 88, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Concordia Hospice of Washington, Donnell House.

She was born May 23, 1937 in Bentleyville, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Sable Kendra.

Betty was a 1955 graduate of the Bentleyville High School and graduated from California University, where she received her master's in education.

For 37 years she was an elementary school teacher for the Bentworth School District.

She was a member of Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, the parish choir, and was one of the "Pierogi Ladies."

Her husband, Nicholas J. Cursi, Sr., passed away August 10, 1991.

Surviving are her children, Donna Marie Jackson (Elmer) of Eighty Four, Nanette Bailey (Mike) of St. Thomas, and Natalie Mazza (Mike) of Connellsville; grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Kendra, Sean and Emily; great-granddaughters, Walker and Wrenlee; brother, John "Jack" Kendra (Alice) of Charleroi; sister-in-law, Barbara Kendra of Monongahela, and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, Nicholas J. Cursi, Jr. and a brother, Joseph Norman Kendra.

Friends are welcome from 9 to 11 am, Monday, December 15, 2025 at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, followed at 11:30 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Katharine Drexel, Bentleyville Campus, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville, with the Reverend Edward L. Yuhas, ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­as celebrant.

A procession will follow to Scenery Hill Cemetery for the Rite of Committal service.
