Elizabeth Liberatore Obituary

Elizabeth (Beth) Jones Mesler Liberatore, 88, formerly of Beallsville, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Washington County Health Center following a lengthy illness. She was born May 26, 1920, in Vesta 6, a daughter of William and Anna Lewis Jones.


She graduated from Bentleyville High School in 1938.


In 1953 she divorced her first husband Howard Mesler, who died in Chicago in 1987.


She operated Mesler's Dairy Bar in Bentleyville for 14 years from 1947-1961. She remarried on July 2, 1961 to George Liberatore a barber from Beallsville. Beth worked for Quality Quick for 22 years as a bookkeeper. She retired at age 80.


She was a faithful member of the Beallsville Methodist Church since 1964, where she was a board member and president of the Joy Bear's.


She is survived by two sons, one daughter and their spouses, Howard "Buddya€? Mesler and Becky of Daisytown, William "Billa€? Mesler and Sandy of Washington, Frances "Sissya€? Egnosak and David of Scenery Hill; grandchildren, Carrie Egnosak of Fair View, Mark Mesler and his spouse Michelle of San Jose, Calif., and Kim Main and her spouse Kash; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Maggie, Jordan and Marcas; a brother, William Jones and his wife Marge of Glendale, Ariz.; a sister, Elise Kitzmiller of Monongahela; four sisters-in-law, Loretta Jones of Levittown, Mary Gaster of Low Hill, Nellie Amato of Maugansville, Md. and Judy Liberatore of Low Hill; and many nieces and nephews.


Also surviving are a step-daughter, Janice Liberatore Shamlain and husband Haig of Eugene, Ore.; former daughter-in-law Gail Liberatore and her children, George A. Liberatore, Donna Goozdich, Richard Liberatore and Deanna Samarin and their spouses and children.


Deceased are her husband George Liberatore died July 24, 1987, and a daughter Ruth Annette Mesler died on her first birthday, March 16, 1943. Also deceased are two bothers Francis and Leslie Jones and a stepson George E. Liberatore and his wife Penny.


Friends will be received from noon to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 21 with Rev. Jim Markley, officiating. Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery, Centerville.
