Emerson B. Wheatley, Sr., 72, of Fallowfield Township, Charleroi, died Saturday, December 11, 2010 in The Washington Hospital.
He was born April 15, 1938 in Rostraver Township, a son of George C. and Ida Mae Manown Wheatley.
He was a self-employed carpenter
A veteran, Mr. Wheatley served with the U.S. Army Reserves from July 1956 to July 1959.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia A. Dickie Wheatley; five children, Michael C. Wheatley of Naples, Flor., Emerson B. Wheatley (Lisa) of Fallowfield Township, Betty L. Eastlake (Dean) of Maryland, Shawn P. Wheatley (Lori) of Dunlevy and Shannon P. Wheatley of Fallowfield Township; ten grandchildren, Nicole, Josh, Dean, Elisha, Danielle, Matthew, Stephanie, Sierra, Shane and Emily; four great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Aden, Haley and Isabella; three sisters, Jean Hall of Fallowfield Township, Marlene Jones (Frank)of Polaski, Virg. and Patricia Baker of Florida; a brother, Robert Wheatley (Mary) of Fallowfield Township and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sons, James R. Fincik, who died in 2001 and Paul T. Fincik, who died in 2010; five brothers, Charles E., Dennis, Sonny (Melvin), Junior (James) and George Wheatley and a sister, Betty Sala.
Friends are welcome at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m., the hour of service, with military honors by American Legion Post 165, Bentleyville.
