Erma L. Williams Stowinsky, 100, of Scenery Hill, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the Washington Hospital.
She was born June 12, 1922 in Webster Springs, West Virginia, a daughter of Curtin Williams and Wilkie Townsend Williams.
She was a graduate of Ellsworth High School.
Before marriage, and during World War II, Mrs. Stowinsky was a welder on the LSTs (naval tank landing ships) for the Dravo Corp. in Neville Island, Pennsylvania.
She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, and fishing with her husband.
Her husband, Lawrence S. Stowinsky, passed away on May 4, 2003.
Surviving are her children, Lawrence “Larry” Stowinsky (Barbara) of Waynesburg, John Stowinsky (Marcia) and Judy Taylor (Bob), all of Scenery Hill and Marcia Brownlee (Rodney “Bucky”) of Washington; grandchildren, Jenny Hull (Robert), Jamie Huffman (Gary), Steven Stowinsky (Jennifer), Amy Yoders (Kevin), Holly Talbert (Carl), Betsy Stowinsky (Connor Stewart), William Taylor (Shannon Delaney), Sarah Taylor (Adam Weaver) and Paul Brownlee (Melissa Linton); great-grandchildren, Austin, Alex, and Zachary Hull, Josie and Sara Huffman, Riley and Reed Stowinsky, Heaven, Gavin and Garrett Yoders, Elizabeth and Charles Talbert, Christopher Harrington, Owen Linton, Robert Taylor, Ezra Crawford, Liam McConnell and Tyler McConnell, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased are her siblings, Denver Williams, Rex Williams, Delano Williams, Charles Williams, Madaline “Bobbi” Craig, Bernadine “Deanie” Saffel, Sheila Pallett and Linda Bowman.
Friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2022 with the Pastor Gary Gibson, officiating.
Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery, Marianna.
