Ernest Barney

Ernest Wray “Spanky” Barney, 66, of Bentleyville, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023.

He was born August 26, 1956 in Washington, a son of the late Ernest S. and Peggy Jefferys Barney.

He graduated from Bentworth High School and was a truck driver for several area companies.

He enjoyed old cars and motorcycles.

Surviving are his children, Tiffeny Jones (Brian) of Eighty Four, Trish Dessify (Paul) of Bentleyville, and Neil Barney of Eighty Four; 13 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Melanie Slogick of Bentleyville, and former wife, Christy Barney.

Deceased are his brother, Shawn Barney; sister, Vickie Mongell, and step-brother, Scott Vankirk.

At Ernest’s request, there will be no services.
