Florence Orbin

Florence M. Orbin, 83, of Pittsburgh, died Monday, January 7, 2013 at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh.

She was born December 9, 1929 in Fayette County, a daughter of Steve U. and Elizabeth C. Botsko Orbin.

A 1947 graduate of the California High School, Miss. Orbin attended the Douglas Business School in Charleroi.

She worked as a secretary, first for Time magazine and later retired from Gulf Oil, where she worked for over 23 years.

Miss Orbin was a member of the Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Dolores 1675 in Bentleyville. She was also a member of AARP.

Surviving are a brother, Steven P. Orbin (Jean) of Waynesburg; nephews, Paul P. Orbin (Leslie), Steven C. Orbin and David M. Orbin; a great-nephew, Henry Orbin and a great-niece, Katherine Orbin.

Deceased is a sister, Elizabeth A. Orbin.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, January 10 followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in Ave Maria Church, Bentleyville with the Rev. Edward L. Yuhas, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart. The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Dolores 1675 will pray the Rosary at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
