Former Owner of Main Street Tavern
George E. Liberatore, 67, of Bentleyville, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at the Donnell House, Washington following a brief illness.
He was born December 6, 1939 in Brownsville, a son of the late George and Elva E. Berry Liberatore.
He attended the Beallsville Schools and then served with the U.S. Air Force from April 1957 to July 1958.
After his discharge, Mr. Liberatore worked as a sales representative for the Hearst Corporation from where he retired.
He then became the owner and operator of the Main Street Tavern in Bentleyville.
Mr. Liberatore was a member of American Legion Post 165, Fraternal Order of Eagles 1809 and the Lithuanian Club, all of Bentleyville.
His wife, Maxine "Penny" Liberatore, whom he married on August 2, 1998, died April 30, 2007.
Surviving are four children, George A. Liberatore (Lisa) of Bentleyville, Donna Goozdich (Mark) of Scenery Hill, Richard A. Liberatore of Speers and Dena Samarin (Paul) of Vestaburg; grandchildren, Dominique and Georgie Liberatore, Tyler and Jordan Goozdich, Darien Liberatore, Paul and Sydney Samarin; step-grandchild Bobby Plutch; sister, Jan Shamliam (Haig) of Eugene, Oregon; his step-mother, Elizabeth (Beth) Liberatore; two step-brothers, Howard (Buddy) Mesler of Bentleyville and William J. Mesler of Washington and a step-sister, Francis "Sissy" Egnosak of Scenery Hill.
