George Gary “Big Gary” Puskarich, Sr., 66, of Scenery Hill, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at UPMC-Hamot in Erie after suffering a heart attack on Monday, June 5, 2023.
He was born August 2, 1956 in North Charleroi, a son of the late George and Naoma Lynn Puskarich.
Gary was a graduate of the Bentworth High School.
He was a life-time farmer, and in his earlier years, a roofer.
He enjoyed traveling to and relaxing in Florida, driving around, Blackjack, Yahtzee, going to farm equipment, auctions, eating out, and picking on waitresses.
Family was everything to Gary. He enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball, football, and soccer teams, and enjoyed playing cards with his late wife, Emma, and brother-in-law Jack Trew, and sister-in-law, Betsy Trew. He loved to spoil his dog, Sissy, who went everywhere with him.
His wife, Emma Louise Schwindling Puskarich, whom he was married to for 44 years, passed away June 25, 2022.
Surviving are his son, George Gary Puskarich, Jr. (Megan Kilgore), and two grandchildren, Kaden Puskarich and Madison Scola.
Also surviving are his brothers, Tommy Puskarich, Richard Puskarich (Diane), and Kevin Puskarich (Debbie), many nieces and nephews, and dear friend Hayley Bercosky.
Deceased are a son, Matthew C. Puskarich, who passed away in 2021, and two brothers, James and Keith Puskarich.
Friends are welcome from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, and 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 14 at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255).
Immediately following the Wednesday visitation, friends are invited to a reception at 6:30 p.m., at Hugo’s, Route 40, Centerville.
