She was born August 13, 1924, in her family home on Robison Dairy, Coal Center. She was the daughter of Roy and Rena Scott Robison.
She was a 1942 graduate of California High School and a 1945 graduate of The Washington Hospital School of Nursing and was the president of the graduating class.
Gladys was employed by the Presbyterian Senior Care as the night supervisor for 25 years. She was a compassionate and caring nurse, who loved her occupation. She was greatly appreciated by her patients, their families and her co-workers. She reluctantly retired in 1994. On October 24, 1945, she married Merland B. Carson, with whom she enjoyed 60 years of marriage. They were devoted to each other and were a wonderful example of Christian love, dedication and hard work to their family. When they were still in good health they enjoyed traveling and caring for flowers around their home. Gladys greatly missed her husband after he went to heaven on June 16, 2006.
Mr. and Mrs. Carson spent their life together raising their five children in the home they built together on her family’s farm. Surviving are their children and their spouses, Janice and Paul Salansky, Ruth Ann and Randy Shultz, Susie Skaggs, Bruce and Rhonda Pinkney Carson, and Scott and Dawn McVay Carson.
