Harry T. Kruell, Jr., 80, of Fallowfield Township, Charleroi, died Monday, October 22, 2007, at Monongahela Valley Hospital.
He was born January 24, 1927 in Fallowfield Township, a son of Harry and Phyllis Alexander Kruell.
He was a graduate of Charleroi High School.
A veteran, he served with the U.S. Army's 657th Engineer Photographic Battalion Headquarters Company, during World War II. Fifty years after his discharge, he received the American Campaign Medal, Fidelity, Efficiency and Honor Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and a Service Medal. Wounded during his service, he was awaiting to receive his Purple Heart Medal.
Mr. Kruell was a member of Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville and a life member of the V.F.W., Charleroi.
Surviving are his wife, LaVerne Keiper Kruell, whom he married in January 1945 at St. Jerome's Church, Charleroi and a son, Jimmie Kruell of Charleroi.
Deceased is a son, Gregory Kruell.
