Henry B. Norquist, 70, of Bentleyville, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at home with his family by his side.
He was born August 8, 1938 in Coal Center, a son of Frances Ramoski Norquist of Bentleyville and the late Henry J. Norquist.
He was a graduate of Bentleyville High School.
A veteran, he served with U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963 as a military policeman.
Mr. Norquist was the owner and operator of Norquist Excavating & Construction.
He enjoyed hunting, especially in Elk County and attending auction sales.
He was currently serving on the Bentleyville Borough Zoning Hearing Board, a former zoning officer for Bentleyville and a former member of the Bentleyville Water Authority.
On August 1, 1966 in Winchester, Virginia, he married Audrey A. Burger, who survives.
Also surviving are seven children, Henry C. Norquist (Rhonda) of Charleroi, Kenneth Norquist, Timothy Norquist, Kimberly (Bryan) Jeffcoat and Kelly Erdely (James), all of Bentleyville, Dennis Norquist (April) of Fayette City and James Norquist (Debbie) of Scenery Hill; eight grandchildren who he loved and enjoyed spending time with, Cody, Matthew, Austin, Griffen, Lisa and Dennis Jr. Norquist and Abigail and Myla Erdely.
Deceased are his paternal grandparents John and Sophia Norquist and his maternal grandparents, Felix and Catherine Ramoski.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, September 19 followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial at Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville with Rev. Gary W. Krummert, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora with graveside military rites by American Legion Post 165.
