Irene Petroff

Irene Markoff Petroff, 84, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, formerly of Marianna, died Thursday, January 1, 2009, at Woodhaven Retirement Community, Livonia, Michigan.

She was born May 16, 1924 in Marianna, a daughter of Frank and Sophie Davis Markoff.

She was a graduate of West Beth High School, Marianna.

She was a member of the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, Hamtramck, Michigan.

On November 27, 1950 in Bowling Green, Ohio, she married Pete Petroff, who died January 2000.

Surviving are two sons, Daniel Petroff of Dearborn Heights and Robert Petroff of Livonia; a daughter, Judy Babinski of Dearborn; two granddaughters, Rebecca Petroff and Danielle Petroff; a sister, Marva Andrievk of Marianna and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three brothers, Fred and Sam Markoff and one in infancy; four sisters, Pauline Steficek and Lillian Valentic and two in infancy.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2009 with the Rev.
