James D. Johnson, 63, of Ellsworth, died Friday, December 26, 2008 at home.
He was born March 8, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of the late Milton Johnson, Sr. and Pauline Smollar Johnson.
A veteran, he served with US Army in Germany.
He worked as a motorman for the former Bethlehem Mines at mine 51, Ellsworth and mine 60, Somerset Township.
Surviving are his companion of 13 years, Dorothy Fordyce of Ellsworth; three children, James Johnson, Jamie Morris and Patrick Johnson, all of Washington; five grandchildren; three sisters, Patty Klanchar (the late William) of Perryopolis, Pamela Blenda (husband Stanley) of Scenery Hill and Paula Franks (husband William) of Vestaburg; a brother, Milton Johnson of Scenery Hill; four nieces and four nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255). For those unable to attend, condolences can be sent at www.thompson-marodi.com.
