Jeffrey Wessel Obituary

Jeffrey Mark Wessel, age 64 of South Park (formerly Eighty Four), passed away Friday, February 28, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Born on June 4, 1960, he was the son of the late James H. Wessel and Thora Louise (McClure) Wessel.

He is survived by his son Zachary Wessel and daughter Samantha (Richard Mezza) Wessel; brothers Jerry (Jeannie) Wessel and Michael Wessel; sister-in-law Sue Wessel and several beloved nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Wessel, sister-in-law Mary Ann Wessel, and Donald Benton, longtime companion of his mother.

Jeff graduated from Ringgold High School class of 1979.

He went on to earn his Associates Degree of Applied Science in Electronics taking night classes while working at Black Box.

He took pride in his position as a maintenance technician at South Park Mobile Estates and appreciated being involved in their community.

Jeff was an outdoorsman. He loved hunting with his son, brothers, and nephews, as well as fishing and camping. In his youth, Jeff also enjoyed spending time on the farm and participating in 4H with his McClure cousins. He was also a loyal spectator at Bentworth wrestling matches, football, softball, and volleyball games while his kids were growing up.

Jeff was also a food lover. He was a fantastic cook and enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. He would often send out a text with his Sunday dinner menu to Zac and Sam with mouthwatering food pictures to follow.

Jeff will be missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2025, in the Clubhouse at South Park Mobile Estates, 120 Hidden Valley Drive, Finleyville.
