Jerome Pompei

Jerome Pompei, 88, of Finleyville, died Tuesday morning, December 04, 2012 at Standish’s, Washington.

He was born March 26, 1924 in Marianna, a son of Rinaldo and Sarah Zeli Pompei.

A veteran, Mr. Pompei served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the James C. Ford Post 949 American Legion in Carroll Township.

He was the former owner and operator of Pompei and Sons Paving.

His wife, Dorothy Prosser Pompei, died November 12, 1999.

Surviving are three children, Jerry Pompei (Kathy) of Finleyville, Barbara Schwartz (Robert) of Ocoee, Flor. and Ty Pompei (Lynn) of Bentleyville; five grandchildren, Marianne and Mark Puskarich, Tammy, Tyrone, Jr. and Taylor Pompei; three sisters, Betty Perri of Eighty Four, Gladys Olson of Canonsburg and Bernadette DeStanfo of Hershey and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, John Pompei and a sister, Juanita Tiberi.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 8 with the Rev. Sue Petritis, officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
