JoAnn Louise Trasatti Malarbi, 72, of Bentleyville, died Sunday, January 31, 2010, in her home in the arms of her loving family, after a very short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was the oldest of two children, born on August 29, 1937, in New Eagle, a daughter of Stanley Enrico and Anne Vigliotti Trasatti.
Mrs. Malarbi loved cooking, cleaning and flower gardening, along with sharing thoughts and ideas with her neighbors.
She was a 1955 graduate of Bentleyville High School and Feusters Beauty Academy and attended business school in Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Malarbi was involved with the Cub Scouts in the 1960s, Bentworth PTA and the Bentworth Band Boosters.
She previously worked at the Bentworth High School cafeteria.
Mrs. Malarbi was a member of Ave Maria Parish.
She was the loving wife of 53 years of Anthony (Tony) Malarbi, whom she married August 18, 1956.
Together they had three children who survive, Rocco Malarbi (Phyllis) of Scenery Hill, Stanley "Rick" Malarbi (Laura) of Monessen and Joni Kroger (Mike) of Columbus, Ohio; four loving grandchildren, Rocco and Nicholas of Scenery Hill, Alexis Malarbi of Monessen and Christian Kroger of Columbus, Ohio; and a very special nephew, Terry Trasatti of York.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville (724-239-2255), where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, February 5, with the Rev. Gary W. Krummert officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that all contributions be made to Ave Maria Parish, 126 Church Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314, Bentleyville Volunteer Fire Department, 900 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314 or the Bentleyville Public Library, 931 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314.
