John H. "Moe" Dean, Jr., 66, of Centerville Borough, passed away Wednesday evening, March 10, 2021 at his home.
He was born June 12, 1954 in New Eagle, a son of the late John and Louise Carducci Dean.
John attended the California schools.
He worked for Ferri Contracting in McMurray and later became a self-employed construction contractor.
John loved construction, gardening, landscaping, the Three Stooges, eating at the Texas De Brazil in Pittsburgh and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. A kind and giving man, he was loved by many. He loved his dogs Cash and Sage and enjoyed taking Moleah and Rose for a ride in his Chickie car.
He was an active member of the Denbo-Vesta Six Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Joycelyn Oswalt Dean; daughters, Jessica Dean and Kaitlin Dean; step-daughters, Jennifer Costanza and Krista Costanza; grandchildren, Jenna, Liam, Eva and Izabella; siblings, James Shutter (Fred), Bertha "Cookie" Lyon (the late Art), Talmadge Dean (Ann), Marion Mousourakis (Gary), Marlene Passmore (Ray), Marvin Dean (Georgene), Leonard Dean (Sandy), Bryant Dean (Linda), Vanessa Knob (the late Richard), and Lillian Burns (John); and several nieces and nephews.
He and Joycelyn had an infant child who passed away on August 2, 2011.
Friends are welcome from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where family and friends will gather at 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, March 16, 2021 followed at 11 a.m. by services at The Church of the Covenant, 267 East Beau Street Washington, with Reverend J. Scott Shetter, officiating.
Due to the current limitations on gatherings, visitors to the funeral home will be restricted to 40 at a time and 75 at the church. Facial coverings are required.
Interment will follow in Scenery Hill Cemetery.
The Denbo-Vesta Six Volunteer Fire Department will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m., Monday in the funeral home.
